My Second Life Experience

Hi!!

   A few days ago, I played an online game called Second Life and I want to share my experience with you.

   Second Life is a virtual reality game. You create your avatar and a tutorial welcomes you. You can fly, teleport and of course meet new people. It has some portals like art or game. You can teleport to anywhere, see new places. 


    Actually, I wanted to go to my school's virtual campus, Istanbul University Virtual Campus on Second Life. Unfortunately, I was unable to find it. I found one of my lecturers profile and the location was favored by him but when I clicked it, I ended up nowhere.  When this was the case, I went somewhere else to discover Second Life universe. I always wanted to see Italy so, I went to a little town called Ciampi. The classical music was playing background and the view was really good, it felt real.

   In the 21st century,  technology has a big part in our lives. As this is the case, language learning has its part of the cake. Lately learning a language from mobile applications become very common. It is maybe not as effective as learning in a classroom but it is a time and money saver choice.     As a user of one of these applications, I can say that they are fun, comfortable, and easily accessible. There are millions of choices for these applications. There are Mondly, Busuu, Memrise, Duolingo, and etc. Today I want to talk about the two of these which I have been using.         The first application I use is Duolingo. I use this application for learning Italian. I was a beginner in the Italian language and Duolingo helped me improve my Italian. What is good in Duolingo is the fun way it teaches. What is Augmented Reality?

Hello everyone.            Almost 5 years ago, a new term introduced to us. A term that will be very close to our lives, now it is even in our phones. It is called Augmented Reality(AR).         " Augmented reality is the blending of interactive digital elements – like dazzling visual overlays, buzzy haptic feedback, or other sensory projections – into our real-world environments." What is meant by that? Think about it. For example, you can see a chair when you look in front of you from your phone but in reality, there is no chair. That's AR.        AR, like VR, almost everywhere in these days. There are tons of applications or websites that offer AR experience for phones, computers, or tablets. On the other hand, Apple phones or tablets have this feature inside them. You don't need another extra application. Fun and Colorful : Padlet

             Hello everyone.         Today we will talk about Padlet. Padlet is a very useful website to use in different fields. In language teaching, padlet is very helpful website to get intention of the students because it has many colorful and fun features. Padlet is a website that you can create diagrams about your content and join another padlets to share information. When you start to create your padlet you have a few optiontions. You can create wall,flow or timeline, etc. After you choose that, it is all your imagination. While I create my padlet, I imagined that I do it for my young students to teach them animals. I choose canvas to start. And create small canvases with pictures of animals.I chose cartoon pictures of the animals . I gave information about them. It was fun to create this padlet.
